creating a space for nuanced living

SLM Logo

SLM needed a logo.  And.. this is a very important place to me.  The corridor of my building leading to my studio is long and pretty much plain white, so I also need a sign on my door to know it exists!   The process of developing the logo took 5 months (did anyone ever tell you about mom time, tenacity..), 2 very talented designers, a lot of patience (on their part and mine), my steady movement of this thing along bit by bit.  But here it is…  Here’s our beautiful, final SLM logo!

I love it!  These women worked hard to create something just right.  It took a lot of iterations.  Logo work is subtle (see my list of 5 things I learned about logo development, on the bottom of the post).  This is what Lauren of 66 Works, an etsy designer, designed for me (the first draft) from some scratches on paper, a heroic effort on her part.

Then Kerry Wingeier, a close friend and artist, stepped and took on the enhancement and refinement of the SLM logo design.  She loosened it up (listened to all my details), and made it into a beautiful relaxing design.

The SLM logo is now place prominently and proudly on my studio door. Now I can move onto developing my other service stuff where I will be writing and inviting clients in.  But now, I know my Studio Lamienne exists, here’s her announcement, and this is a place where my intention is intact.  SLM is my grounding point, my flag in the sand to say “It starts with me, with my creative self intact”.  Welcome Studio Lamienne.   I feel grateful to have artists/designers to help bring this into being.
